In the 21st century all social media fitness influencers like @Kaisafit and @Kirastokesfit have to do to make a killer workout video is set up their phone, hit record and go. Okay, maybe they have to coordinate the right outfit, set up some lights, find a killer mix, but still, in 2020 it's much easier to make a fitness video then it was back in the 1980s. Once upon a time making a fitness video was a major endeavor that required a studio, multiple cameras, lights and, well, you get the picture. Tamilee Webb was one of the first fitness superstars with her 'Buns of Steel' series of workout videos on VHS tapes (you may have to look that up what that is on wikipedia); those videos are still completely relevant and can help you get in awesome shape even years after they were filmed (in a studio with an entire production crew).

Originally recorded in 2017, this episode is a special rerun with one of the legends of the modern fitness industry; Tamilee joins me to share how she got started making Buns of Steel videos, how much work it took to actually film a video before the era of the smartphone and how she has adapted her fitness programming to meet the needs of the 21st century. This is a fun, insightful and lively discussion about what makes a great workout and how the ability to deliver fitness videos directly to your home has evolved over the years.
