Love it or hate it, social media has become pervasive in our society. Everywhere you go peopled are huddled over their phones like crack-addled praying mantises (RIP Greg Giraldo) checking their likes and updating their statuses; which suggests that social media seems to be creating new ways to further isolate people and ideas in our society.

However, there are some ways that social media CAN be used for good! There is some research to suggest that social media can help people establish new, healthier behaviors (yes, it's true, follow this link for one example).
